Unplanned RoadTrip in 2020 The year 2020 took away too much from all of us, be it moments of togetherness, a warm hug, and loved ones too. I lost my Father in October, he lived a comfortable and fulfilling life, he left us and we miss him dearly. Hope he has moved on to the new and better world. Life for us mortals goes on and we try to make the best of it. As the year draws to an end , I hope that the next one brings more joy, happiness and prosperity for all of us. With fingers crossed lets step into 2021 and allow me to share my experience form the last trip of 2020. Hope you enjoy and feel it. Preparation: Along side the customary Vehicle preparation which includes vehicle servicing, tyre and break check, relevant documents, we carried all possible accessories to make life easier on road. This included puncture repair kit, air compressor, jump wires, toe cable, Air Purifier and more tiny accessories. As the pandemic still is raging on during the trip so we planned to carry

Chainsheel Trek in April "Lets go trekking" said she, Booked for Chainsheel said I. About Chainsheel: Chainsheel is a collective range of mountains surrounding a ridge along the Himachal & Uttarakhand border. This region is pure & unexplored, and extremely difficult to reach for it receives heavy snow fall during the cold months from Dec to March; however, it is adorned with green carpet of grass and colourful flowers during summers. Snow on the tent! The preparation : Anku and I packed warm clothes, dryfruits and basic toiletries for the days to come. For high altitude trek it is advisable to keep sufficient warm clothes ( quick dry) and essential supplies in limited quantity. For physical conditioning it is recommended to start running a few Km at least 5 days a week for 1-2 months before the trek. Best thing that we did for ourselves after a while. The Plan: Making the whole plan the entry and exit points and internal destinations to cover was quite an exercise. Considering air fare, points of interest and number of days we decided on entry at Paris and Exit at Zurich. Now that Paris and Zurich were on the list, we had to plan for intermediate stops. Speaking to friends and through some google Mapping we zeroed in on the following Mumbai- Paris- Budapest- Vienna- Prague- Amsterdam- Munich- Zurich- Mumbai Having finalized the destinations I resorted to GoIbibo ( since I could book hotels in INR) and Google Maps to finalize the hotels. Primary criteria was high guest ratings and easy accessibility through public transport. This strategy worked out well since we saved huge chunk on our Taxi bill.
